Athlete Account Terms
events.tawf.ca · Team Arm Wrestling Federation (TAWF) Version 1.0 · Effective October 6, 2026
These terms apply to your account on events.tawf.ca, the TAWF events platform. By creating an account or claiming a profile, you agree to them. They are separate from the event waiver, which you sign for each event you enter and which covers the sport itself. They are also separate from fans.tawf.ca, which is run by TopFan under TopFan's terms.
The platform is operated by Table Monkeys Inc., a Canadian corporation, 30 Holly Street, Apt. 306, Toronto, Ontario M4S 3C2, operating as the Team Arm Wrestling Federation. "We" and "TAWF" mean that company. Our privacy policy at www.tawf.ca/privacy explains what we do with your information and is part of these terms.
1. Who may hold an account
- You must be 14 or older on the day you create or claim your account. An athlete under 14 competes through a parent or guardian who registers them at the event desk; see the privacy policy, section 9.
- One person, one account. An account is for the person named on it. If we made a profile for you from your team's roster, the claim is yours alone; do not claim a profile that is not you.
- You must give us a working email address. We sign you in by sending a link to it, and we use it to tell you about events you enter.
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must sign the event waiver on paper at each event before you compete.
2. Your profile is public
Your profile on the platform is a public page. Anyone, signed in or not, can see your name, username, nickname, team, club, city, photo, social links, season placement and event history. During an event, the venue boards and the broadcast also show your weigh-in weight beside your name while you are on the table. Your date of birth, declared weight, email, mobile and emergency contact are never public.
You control the optional fields. You may leave the nickname, club, city, social links and photo empty, or remove them at any time.
Your username is a label for you on the platform and on printed sheets. We may refuse or change a username that is offensive, impersonates someone, or is misleading.
3. Results are the league's record
When you enter an event, your entry (username and weight class) appears on the public entry list. When you compete, every match you pull is recorded: opponent, score, fouls, result. Standings and placements are calculated from those records and published on the event page and your profile.
These records are permanent. They belong to the league, not to you or your opponent, and they stay after an account is closed. Corrections are made only by the officials at the table on the day, under the league's rules.
4. Photos and your likeness
When you upload a photo, you give TAWF a licence to:
- publish a square headshot cut from it on your profile, in the directory and on the venue boards, including before our staff have styled it;
- create a styled athlete card from it and show that card on venue boards, broadcasts, streams, printed sheets and the league's own social media and website;
- keep using the headshot and card on results pages after the event.
You keep ownership of the photo. You confirm that it is a photo of you and that you have the right to give us this licence. You may remove your photo from your profile at any time; the headshot and card come down with it, but a card that already appeared in a broadcast or a printed sheet cannot be recalled.
This licence covers the platform's uses. Photography and filming at events themselves are covered by the event waiver you sign for each event.
5. What you agree not to do
- Give false information, in particular a false date of birth, weight or name.
- Claim, use or try to access an account that is not yours.
- Enter an event on someone else's behalf.
- Use the platform to harass, threaten or abuse another athlete, a staff member or an official.
- Interfere with the platform, its live boards or its results feeds.
6. What we may do
If you break these terms or the league's rules of conduct, we may:
- withdraw you from an event you have entered;
- block your account, which stops you signing in and withdraws you from events that have not started;
- remove or edit a profile field, username or photo;
- keep the results you already pulled on record.
We will tell you what we did and why, by email to the address on your account.
7. Live boards, feeds and availability
The live boards, standings and results feeds are provided as they are, as fast as the officials at the table enter them. They may be delayed, corrected or, briefly, wrong. The official result of any match is the one the officials record. We may take the platform offline for maintenance or when something breaks, including during an event.
8. Limitation of liability
The platform is software. To the extent Canadian law allows, TAWF is not liable for any loss caused by an error in the software, a delayed or incorrect feed, an outage, or the loss of data outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Injuries and risks of the sport are governed by the event waiver, not by these terms.
9. Closing your account
You may ask us to close your account at any time by writing to privacy@tawf.ca. We will anonymise your profile as the privacy policy describes and keep your results and your signed waiver records.
10. Changes
The version and effective date are at the top of this page. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the platform will show you the new version the next time you sign in and ask you to accept it before you enter another event. Continuing to use your account after that is your acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute is heard in the courts of Ontario. This matches the event waiver.
